Frequently Asked Questions

The first therapy session is about creating a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing. We talk openly about why you're here—your concerns, goals, and hopes. This helps shape the therapy to fit your needs. We also explain how therapy works, our roles, session frequency, and what to expect. Practical details like confidentiality, scheduling, fees, and cancellations are covered to keep everything clear. This foundation builds trust and prepares us for effective work together.

Both parents who share legal decision-making rights must provide their signatures on consent to treatment forms. This requirement ensures that all parties with legal authority are in agreement regarding the therapeutic process. Recognizing that this can sometimes present challenges depending on individual circumstances, we remain open to exploring alternative approaches should these situations make obtaining joint consent difficult. Your comfort and the child's best interests remain the priority throughout this process.
-
A cancellation policy requiring 24 hours’ notice is in place and will be reviewed during our initial session. Understandably, life happens and unforeseen circumstances arise; for both of us.

My booking system is set up to take payments online via credit card. If this does not work for you, E- transfer is accepted. I ask that payments are sent after our session, or I can process payments online with consent and a credit card on file.

The frequency of your sessions is completely tailored to your unique needs and preferences. Whether you choose to begin gradually to explore how therapy fits into your life or prefer more frequent sessions to deepen your progress, both approaches are equally valid. Your journey in psychotherapy is entirely in your control, and your comfort and pace guide the process.

Please verify your eligibility and coverage with your insurance provider before scheduling an appointment, particularly if you intend to use employment benefits for reimbursement.
